After six years of marriage Mandy Moore, 30, and Ryan Adams, 40, are un-tying the knot.
End of Marriage
A rep for the two has announced, “Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage. It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time.”
Tying the Knot
The alt-rock singer and pop star were wed in March 2009Â in Savannah, Georgia. The ceremony took place just four weeks after the couple had announced their engagement.
The Couple in the Limelight
Just after news of the split was announced, Adams appeared on a pretaped segment of The Late Late Show, performing his ballad “Gimme Something Good.” The couple seemed to be all smiles when they celebrated their fifth anniversary last year.
On his Instagram Moor wrote, “Celebrating love w the greatest friends and family last night. Feeling incredibly grateful today,” under a shot of some of the couple’s friends. Just a week prior to that Moore had posted a photo of their marriage certificate, captioning it with, “The best five years….”
Out of the Limelight
The couple have collaborated on songs in the past, but beyond that have stayed hush-hush about their relationship. When asked about Moore in the past Adams has responded, “I’m a private person and I’ll be a gentleman and say I’m not talking about my marriage ever. I’ll never talk about it. Ever.”
